Review

How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segel), drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny may have something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

As E4 said "OK OK OK It's friends without boring Ross" hehe... yes it IS amazing.... I thought I had been living under a rock when I realised there was a 1-4 box set, but NO... as Angel pointed out, it really HAS only just come out here in the UK now... although series one is available through hmv... I am very happy to see that you can buy it here and shall be saving up my pennies to buy it when I come back from my travels :-) It really is a good show and I am looking forward to seeing how it unfolds... although I unfortunately got a small synopsis of the most recent episode (new in the US) through IMDB oops.

A really good show, I can't believe it has only just started in the UK! So first of all this is a really good show so I mean no disrespect when I say that it is essentially Friends for a new generation. The show is told through a series of flashbacks from the future as Ted accompanied by his four friends attempts to find the love of his life. As I already said the show is effectively just Friends. Instead of 6 tweny-somethings substitute 5 twenty-somethings. Instead of a coffee house substitute a bar. Instead of Gunther substitute Carl. Instead of joey substitute Barney etc etc. But don't get me wrong Friends was great and if it ain't broke don't fix it!
